Water Outage Reported at Lake

Water coming out of the faucet

A broken water main in the 800 block of Canal Cove Road has prompted a boil water advisory for Lake Waccamaw  until further notice.

Customers will experience periods of low and no water pressure while the repairs are completed, a notice from the town said this afternoon (Tuesday).

A lack of pressure can lead to back siphonage, bacteria and debris in the water supply. Customers are advised to boil any water used for human consumption for one minute. That includes water used for brushing teeth, making ice, washing dishes and cooking. Bottled water can also be used.

The affected area extends from 800 Canal Cove Road to  the end of Waccamaw Shores, including Wooded Acres.
