Jessalyn LeAnn Wray Batten, 36, of Bladenboro, ended her battle with cancer on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, while in the Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Angel House in Whiteville.
Jessalyn was born on September 27, 1987, in Whiteville, NC. She was the daughter of Ricky Thompson Wray and Vickie Louise Kinlaw Wray, both of Whiteville.
Jessalyn worked for First Bank in Whiteville, serving as a Branch Banker.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 22, 2023 at New Light Church in Bladenboro, with Pastor Dale Hester officiating. Jessalyn will be laid to rest in the Western Prong Baptist Church Cemetery.
The visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn.
In addition to her parents, Jessalyn leaves behind her husband, Brandon Wayne Batten of the home; a daughter, Braelyn R. Batten of the home; sister, Christa W. McMillan (Brian) of Whiteville; niece, Emory Wray of Whiteville; nephew, Coleson McMillan of Whiteville; aunt, Rebecca Wray of Lake Waccamaw.
