Larry Herbert Mincey, 78, of Whiteville, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at his residence.
Larry was born on August 22, 1945, son of the late Herbert Walter Berry Mincey and Kathleen Marie Luffman Mincey. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Glenyce Kay Stewart Mincey,
Larry was a member of Western Prong Baptist Church. He was the former owner and operator of Mincey’s Pest Control in Whiteville, N.C.
To cherish his memory, Larry leaves behind his four daughters, Melanie M. Smith (Forrest) of Wilmington, Angela M. Gurgainus (Robin) of Wendell, Candace Mincey of the Home, and Danica M. Sherill (Michael) of Leland; four grandchildren, Christian Gurgainus, Madison Smith, Cameron Gurgainus and Chandler Smith and his sister, Judy Mincey of Brunswick, N.C.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 22, 2023, in the Worthington Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Ronnie Wilson, Rev. Dave Crumpler, and Rev. Steve Bailey officiating, with interment to follow in the Western Prong Baptist Church Cemetery.
A visitation will be held from 2:00-2:45 p.m. prior to the service on Sunday, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be addressed to the Western Prong Baptist Church Children’s Ministries, NC Dyslexia Foundation, or the North Carolina Baptist Men’s Disaster Relief Ministries.
