There’s a new twist to an old favorite turkey shoot this weekend: organizers want every single child who attends to win.
Saturday is youth shoot night at the Old Dock Cypress Creek Volunteer Fire Department turkey shoot. A number of individuals and businesses have sponsored rounds so as many young shooters as possible can participate for free.
The kid’s rounds are for children 13 and under, and competitions will be based on age
Chef Sara Gore Catering, Gunzo Firearm Training, Sousa Tile, District 7 Barbershop, Benton’s Excavating, the Gore Law Firm, Columbuscountynews.com and others are sponsoring kids rounds at Saturday’s shoot. The event opens at 7 p.m.
Lee Ward said the goal is to have as many children who attend to have the chance to take home a turkey.
