Fay Odell Green Hayes, 95, of the Cherry Grove Community of Cerro Gordo, entered into her Heavenly home on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, while in her home, surrounded by her family.
Fay was born on May 28, 1928, daughter of the late Luke High Green, Sr. and Beulah Page Green. She was the widow of Daniel Monroe Hayes and was also preceded in death by her siblings, Stella Fipps, Lula Floyd, Luke Green, Jr., Bobby Green, June Green, and Ruby Blackwell.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at Cherry Grove Baptist Church, with Pastor Rusty Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday evening, at Worthington Funeral Home.
Fay leaves behind her three sons, Wayne Hayes (Carolyn) of Cerro Gordo, Danny Hayes (Frances) of Chadbourn, Terry Hayes (Jennifer) of Cerro Gordo; grandchildren, Wayne, Jr., Denice, Anna, Dana, Graham, Dawson, and Hunter; 14 great-grandchildren.
