Louise Stephens Green, 91, of Cerro Gordo, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, December 13th, 2023, at home, surrounded by her family.
Louise was born on August 11, 1932, daughter of the late Theo Stephens and Mary Harrelson Stephens. She was the widow of Luke H. Green, who preceded her in the year of 1996, and was also preceded in death by her siblings, Leo Stephens, Dorothy Stephens Long, and Brunson Stephens.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 noon on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at Porter Swamp Baptist Church, with Pastor Tim Moore officiating. A burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 11:00-11:45 a.m. on Saturday, at the church.
Louise was a faithful member of Porter Swamp Baptist Church. She worked as a registered nurse for 50 years at Chadbourn Family Practice, retiring at the age of 84. In 2013, Louise was awarded the Golden Nurse Award by the Columbus Regional Foundation Board.
The surviving family includes two daughters, Rhonda Conner and her husband, Danny, of Whiteville, Sonja J. Green of the home; special nephew, Gregory Stephens of Myrtle Beach, SC; grandchildren, Tiffany Conner, Lucas Conner (Abby); great-grandchildren, Brody Conner, and Bristol Conner.
