Joyce Marie Smith Stanley, 80, of Clarendon, passed away on Monday, August 26, 2024, at the Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Angel House in Whiteville.
Joyce was born on July 22, 1944, daughter of the late Earlie M. Smith and Ruth Leonard Smith. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Wade Stanley; her daughter, Karen S. Ward; grandson, Garrett Smith; siblings, Howard Smith, Mary Smith, Virginia Tyree, J.E. Smith, Johnny Smith, Brenda Gail Ward, and Carolyn Kay Smith.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, August 30, 2024, at Worthington Funeral Home, with burial to follow in the Smith Cemetery, Clarendon.
The visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday evening, at the funeral home.
Joyce was a Veteran, having served in the United States Army for eight years; she also retired from National Spinning in Whiteville following over 35 years of service.
The surviving family includes her son, Chris C. Smith of Clarendon; grandchildren, Blake Smith (Lindsey), Kaylin Ward (Nolan), Kinsey Ward; great-grandson, Riley Smith; sister, Doretha Bell Walker of Whiteville.
The family wishes to thank the very special care givers, Annette Hinson and Carol Ann Cribb, and the Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Angel House.
