David Joseph Spaulding, Sr. age 88, of Whiteville, went home to be with the Lord on the morning of September 20, 2024.
David was born on August 25, 1936, son of the late Henry L. Spaulding and Hazel L. Moore Spaulding. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Graham Spaulding and his siblings, Norma Gaillard, Edward Spaulding, and Maribel Starling.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Union Baptist Church in Lake Waccamaw; Pastor Gregory Spaulding will officiate. Interment will follow in the St. James Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday evening at Worthington Funeral Home.
David served in the United States National Guard for three years. He was a faithful member of Union Baptist Church in Lake Waccamaw.
Survivors include children: David Joseph Spaulding, Jr. (Michelle) of Lawrenceville, NJ, Dawson Henry Spaulding (Barbara) of Clarkton, Edward Aaron Spaulding (Migdalia) of South Plainfield, NJ, Hazel Spaulding Woods (Patrick) of New Orleans, LA, Amelia Alita Savad (Greg) of East Brunswick, NJ; grandchildren: Jalynn M. Spaulding, Jared Spaulding, III, Danielle Owusu (Albert), Gabrielle Spaulding, Kianna Spaulding, Edward Spaulding, Jr., Janay Spaulding, Aaliyah Spaulding, Sophia Parker; great-grandchildren, Laila, Brayden, and Camarin
