Mr. James Harold Sasser 92, of Princeton, NC formerly of Columbus County passed on Friday, September 6, 2024 in SECU Hospice House in Smithfield, NC. He was born May 31, 1932 in Columbus County, the son of the late Edison Sasser and Grace McKee Sasser.
He is survived by a son, Alan Sasser (Beth) of Elizabethtown; daughters, Carol Sasser Core (Ken) of Princeton and Laura Sasser Dunmire (Joe) of Leland; grandchildren, Erin Sasser, Ryan Sasser, Sarah Core, Matthew Core, Grace Dunmire and Cameron Dunmire; brother, Rhone Sasser (Dorothy) of Hallsboro; sisters-in-law, Adjie Sasser of Hallsboro and Shirley Sasser of Hallsboro.
He was a retired maintenance supervisor with International Paper and a veteran having served in the US Air Force.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Hayes Sasser in 2019; his parents; brothers, Stuart Sasser, Kenneth Sasser; a sister, Merle Sasser Pitzer; brother-in-law, Art Pitzer.
His funeral service will be Wednesday, 3:00 PM at Peacock Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Clay Parker officiating.
His family will receive friends 2:00 – 3:00 pm Wednesday prior to his service in the chapel.
