Authorities allowed Whiteville’s Kent Place Apartments residents to return to their homes around 8:30 p.m. tonight (Friday) after a search of one of the units by multiple agencies.
Multiple emergency vehicles, along with local, state and federal law enforcement officers entered an apartment at the complex this afternoon. The Marine Corps ordinance disposal unit from Camp Lejuene was also deployed.
Columbus Street was blocked near the city hall during the operation.
