Wanda Karen Harris McKee, age 66, of Whiteville, NC, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 13, 2024, at Lower Cape Fear Life Care, Wilmington, NC. Wanda was born in Cumberland County on October 28, 1957 to the late Kenneth Ward Harris and the late Velma Norris Harris Bullard. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother; Gregory Kent Harris and sister; Darlene Marlowe.
After graduating high school, Wanda began working in data entry at the UCB call center (now called Truist).
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters; Amanda Ray (Ian) of Elizabethtown, NC and Tracy Daggett (Russell) of Leland, NC, brothers; Gary Ward Harris of Whiteville and Dayle Bullard of Wilmington, significant other; James Allen McKee of Whiteville, a son; Trevor Madison McKee of Whiteville, grandchildren; Noah Francis Ray, Russell Daggett, Jr, Carleigh Daggett, Jack Daggett, Allen McKee, Mica McKee, and Jacob Harris, and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 20, 2024, at 2:00 pm in the McKenzie Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Mitchell Smith officiating. A visitation will be held from 1:00 – 1:45 pm prior to the service.
