Mrs. Rita Wayne Collier Parker 66, of Whiteville passed on Friday, October 11, 2024 in Columbus Regional Healthcare. She was born in Columbus County the daughter of Mrs Nina Cox Collier and the late Roscoe Collier.
She attended the Whiteville City Schools and Fayetteville Technical College where she received a degree in Physical Therapy. She was a member of Western Prong Baptist Church. She loved and participated in mission work. She was a board member of Wildlife Action. Rita was formerly employed with Columbus County Home Health, Bladen County Home Health, Columbus Physical Therapy and Premier Living. Rita was a member of the NC National Guard.
She is survived by her husband, Greg Parker; her son, George Anthony Wayne, II (Laura) of Whiteville; daughters, Kristin Ponder (Wally) of Bolton, Kara Siharat (Oy) of Seven Lakes, NC, Kylie Willetts (Colby) of Wilmington; her mother, Nina Cox Collier of Whiteville; her brother, Rocky Collier of Whiteville; her sister, Lee Anne Collier Peoples of Henderson, NC; grandchildren, Skylur Bishop, Lucius Bishop, Feni Siharat, Chloe Siharat, Emma Siharat, Annabelle Wayne, Elias Wayne, Jessi Wayne, Sadie Willetts, Benjamin Martinez.
She was preceded in death by her late husband, George Anthony Wayne, Sr.; her father, Roscoe Collier and a daughter, Katlin Parker.
Memorials in Rita’s memory may be made to Western Prong Baptist Church, c/o Operation Christmas Child, 167 Peacock Rd. Whiteville NC 28472.
Rita’s funeral service will be at 2:00 pm Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at Western Prong Baptist Church with Rev. Ronnie Wilson officiating. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.
Her family will receive friends at Western Prong Baptist Church, Wednesday 1:00 – 2:00 pm prior to her service.
