Robert Lee Spence III of Cerro Gordo, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 13, 2024, in the Angel House of Whiteville, NC.
Robert was born on April 23, 1942, son of the late Robert Lee Spence, Jr. and Eloise Baker Spence. In addition to his parents, Robert was also preceded in death by his sister, Becky Spence Smith.
A graveside memorial service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at Columbus Memorial Park. The family will speak to friends following the service at the cemetery. 
Robert was a United States Veteran, having served in the Army.
To cherish his memory, Robert leaves behind his loving wife of 58 years, Annette Meares Spence of Cerro Gordo; daughter, Mary Katherine Etheridge and her husband, Bryan, of Whiteville; two granddaughter, Blaiz Ward and Kaizn Ward; brother, Kenneth Spence of Tennessee.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cerro Gordo Fire and Rescue, 75 Railroad St E, Cerro Gordo, NC 28430
