Weather Update – Monday October 21, 2024

Hello once again, Meteorologist Christopher Cawley here with your weather update for Monday evening, October 21, 2024.

Not a whole lot to talk about in the world of weather over the eastern Carolinas. Strong ridge of high pressure remains firmly in control of our weather through the coming weekend (and into next week). In fact, I think we’re going to run the rest of October with little, if any, precipitation chance.

Temperatures will average out above normal through at least November 4, according to the Climate Prediction Center.

As for the local forecast, sunshine by day, clear nights through the weekend. A dry cold front moves through early Thursday bringing our temps down a few ticks… and another dry frontal boundary moves through on Saturday.

Looking at the tropics, Tropical Storm Oscar is located just off the northeast coast of Cuba and is moving off to the northeast. Oscar will have no impacts to the continental United States. No worries.

There are no other areas of interest in the tropics, per the National Hurricane Center.

That’ll do it for tonight, thanks for reading, and take care.
