Doris Ann Fowler Martin of Chadbourn NC passed away peacefully on December 8, 2024, at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare in Whiteville. She lived a wonderful life of 86 years.
Doris was born on September 10, 1938, to the late Carson and Ruby Williamson Fowler. She was preceded in death by her son, David Ray Martin and her brother, Hubert Fowler.
She was a lifelong member of Williamson’s Crossroads Baptist Church. Doris was employed at UCB and BB&T in Whiteville for 25 years.
She is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, David Carroll Martin; and a daughter, Teresa Martin Hooks and husband, Butch; a granddaughter, Ashleigh Hooks Turner and husband, Daniel; great-granddaughters, Makenna Ann and Mia Grace Turner; a sister, Jewel Fowler Green and husband, Joe; and nephews, Kent Fowler and wife, Christa and Jamie Grice and wife, Tabitha.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday (December 11, 2024) at the Worthington Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Trenton Ford officiating. Interment will follow in the Williamson’s Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm until 1:45 pm on Wednesday, prior to the service.
