Wilbert “Chester” Lee Evans, age 92, died on Thursday, December 26, 2024 at Premier Living and Rehab Center.
Chester was born to the late German Evans and Polly Malinda Pruitt in Brunswick County. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Wilda Clewis Evans, and a brother, Elbert Evans Jr.
Chester honorably served his country in the US Air Force. 
Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at New Life Baptist Church in Ash, with Reverend BoBo Chapel officiating. (3784 Exum Rd. NW, Ash, NC)
Chester was survived by his niece, Malinda Evans Hinson (Dale) of Chadbourn; great nephews, Brian Clemmons of Ash and Jeremie Clemmons (Sandra) of Chadbourn; great niece, Melissa Clemmons (Jason Thompson) of Whiteville; several great-great nieces and nephews.
