A toddler is unhurt after getting his leg caught in a vent, thanks to deputies and rescue personnel.

Deputies went to 2546 Georgia Pacific Road Tuesday at 5:45 a.m. after Diedra Jordan called 911 for help, according to a report by Sgt. C. Fonvielle. The two-year-old boy had gotten his leg caught in a bathroom vent, the report said. Because of the size of the vent and the child’s position, deputies decided the safest course of action was to remove part of the floor.

With the mother’s permission, deputies used a hammer and pry bar to remove a section of plywood flooring. The child was removed without injury, but was assessed by Klondyke-Chadbourn Rescue.
