July 1, 1939 ~ April 24, 2025 (age 85)
Rebecca Cooper Best, 85, of Whiteville, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at her residence, surrounded by her family.
Rebecca was born on July 1, 1939, daughter of the late George Warren Cooper and Oveida Turney Cooper. She was also preceded in death by six siblings.
Rebecca was employed by Sears Department Store for 21 years, serving primarily as credit manager.
The surviving family includes her husband of 67 years, Gordon Graham Best; daughter, Debra Best Payne of Whiteville; son, Gordon Craig Best (Christie Lynn) of Whiteville; grandchildren, Wendy Huggins, Joshua Cumbee, Gordon Graham Best, II, Benjamin Craig Best (Jacqueline), Emily Blackmon (Kyle); great-grandchildren, April Huggins, Ezra Blackmon, Eston Blackmon, Vivienne Best, and Cooper Best.
