
Cocaine and opiates sent two Cerro Gordo sisters to jail April 16.
Miranda Lynn Godwin, 37 and Crystal Leanne Godwin, 39, were each charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver opiates and prescription drugs, as well as possession of drug paraphernalia. Miranda Godwin was also charged with felony possession of cocaine and maintaining a dwelling for drug activities. Both women gave their address as 167 Page Mill Road. Miranda Godwin was held under $10,500 bond, and he sister under $10,000.
The sheriff’s office said in a press release that the Godwin sisters were the cause of numerous complaints of suspected drug sales and drug-related activity in the community.

The investigation led to a search warrant for the home on April 16. Deputies discovered scales and other drug paraphernalia, along with “multiple” types of controlled substances.
“The mission of our Vice/Narcotics team is not only to disrupt the flow of illegal drugs in our county but to
eradicate it altogether,” said Sheriff Bill Rogers. “We’re focused on protecting our neighborhoods and preventing these harmful influences from reaching future generations. This work is about building safer communities and giving people a chance to live free from the grip of addiction and criminal behavior.”
