Suspect Jailed in Tuesday Shooting

The suspect in a Tuesday night shooting was waiting for deputies with his hands raised when they arrived at the crime scene.

Brandon Alexander Galloway, 31, was held under no bond, pending a first appearance, He was booked into the Columbus County Detention Center at 3 a.m. on a single charge of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, inflicting serious injury. His address was listed on court documents as 731 Shaw Rd., Riegelwood.

Deputies were called to 12900 Old Lake Road around 10:30 p.m. to a report of a shooting, the sheriff’s office reported. Galloway was standing in the driveway with his hands raised, and complied with all instructions by the deputes.

Devon Tieshawn Antone, 21, was found near a GMC Sierra with multiple gunshot wounds to the legs, the report said. He was “in and out of consciousness” when deputies found him, the report said. Deputies provided emergency first ad, including applying tourniquets and packing the wounds, while EMS was en route. Antone was transported directly to New Hanover Regional.

The sheriff’s office did not release a motive for the shooting. Antone’s condition was not immediately available.
