Here’s today’s Bottom Line
Drought conditions continue about the area. Strong high pressure both at the surface and at the middle levels of the atmosphere will continue to dominate our weather through the Easter holiday weekend.
The high pressure center will move offshore today leading to a southerly wind flow, which will result in a fairly dramatic warm-up through the weekend. Lots of sunshine will be the rule today and Saturday; highs today in the lower 80s will rise to the upper 80s for your Saturday with a rather noticeable bump in humidity levels.
Easter sunrise services will be greeted with mainly clear to partly cloudy skies, fairly humid conditions, and temperatures in the lower 60s. Easter Sunday itself will be partly to mostly sunny with highs again in the upper 80s.
As the high starts to lose influence on our area, a frontal system will approach on Monday, leading to the potential for some showers and thunderstorms Tuesday and Wednesday. We’re not looking at widespread precipitation, so don’t get too excited about it. It’ll be more of a regime where we start out with sunshine each day, and then as instability increases, showers/storms develop in the afternoon hours. This frontal system should dissipate over the area later next week.
No significant cooldown is expected with or after the front. Highs will still range in the lower to middle 80s through much of next week, which is about 7 to 10 degrees above seasonal normal values. Lows will hold pretty steady in the lower 60s.
