A man was shot to death in Sandyfield Tuesday evening after an argument at a Browntown Road home.
Sheriff Bill Rogers said the victim and another man argued and the disagreement escalated into a killing. The victim was transported by private vehicle away from the scene and picked up by an ambulance. He reportedly died en route to the hospital.
The sheriff’s office and State Bureau of Investigation were on the scene until around 4 a.m., working under tents due to Tuesday’s rainy weather. Rogers said they were back on the crime scene this morning at 11 a.m.
Browntown Road weaves in and out of the Bladen County line. Three houses along the road are in Columbus County.
