Doris Faye Bowen Hart, 87, of Whiteville, died on Friday, May 16, 2025, at the Lower Cape Fear Angel House in Whiteville, NC.
Doris was born on September 23, 1937, daughter of the late Hezikah Bowen and Amanda Smith Bowen. She was the widow of Harold Dene Hart and was also preceded in death by her siblings, Robert Bowen, Hubert Bowen, Martha Simmons, Betty Jo Etheridge, and Joanne Long.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, May 19, 2025, at Worthington Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Union Valley Baptist Church Cemetery; Pastor John McPherson will officiate the service.
The family will have visitation from 10:00-10:45 a.m. prior to the service on Monday, at the funeral home.
Doris was a member of Chadbourn Church of God of Prophecy.
The surviving family includes her children, Cathy Holleman (Rob) of Fortson, GA, Elizabeth Smith (James) of Burlington; grandchildren, Amanda Taylor (Kasey), Crystal Smith; great-grandchildren, Zoe Samra, Jackson Samra, Landen Taylor, Lainey Taylor ; siblings, Yvonne McPherson, Mable Piver, and Jack Bowen (Libby).
