VBS List for Summer of 2025

School is almost out for the summer, but Jesus is in session all over the county during June and July. There is no shortage of VBS fun in Columbus in 2025. If you would like your church’s summer program added to the list, just shoot an email to crystalfaircloth@columbuscountynews.com.  We will be happy to get it out there for you. 

• Palmyra Missionary Baptist will kick off their ‘Magnified’ VBS on June 7 at 12-2 p.m. The rest of the program will run June 8-12 from 5-8:30 p.m. nightly. Palmyra is located at 12753 New Britton Highway East in the Old Dock community. 

• New Life Community Church will have their VBS June 9-13, and it will begin each night at 6 p.m. NLCC can be found at 107 Maultsby Street in Whiteville. 

• Peace Baptist Church will have their ‘Magnified’ VBS on June 11-13. Dinner will be at in the Fellowship Hall each evening at 5:30 p.m. with services following at 6:20 p.m. The church’s address is 653 Love Mill Road in Whiteville behind Tractor Supply.  

• The First Baptist Church of Lake Waccamaw will be holding their ‘Wonder Junction’ VBS beginning June 16-20, from 9:15-11:45 a.m. Upon dismissal, students will be provided with a brown bag lunch with a choice of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich or a meat and cheese sandwich, chips and a drink. The church is located at 300 East Old Highway 74/76. Parents can sign their children up by visiting www.fbclw.church/vbs.  

• Union Baptist Church invites everyone to attend ‘Camp Chaos’ from June 16-20. The five-day VBS will be from 6-8 p.m. each evening. UBC can be found at 2290 Old Northeast Road in Lake Waccamaw. 

• Whiteville First Baptist Church will would like to announce that their VBS ‘JAM- Jesus and Me’ will be June 17-19. Services will be held 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. each day. The church’s address is 412 North Madison Street. 

• Cornerstone Original Freewill Baptist Church will be having their VBS June 22-26 from 6:30-9 p.m. nightly. Commencement will be on June 27 at 6:30 p.m. with refreshments following the service. All ages infant to adult are welcome. Cornerstone’s address is 8428 Hallsboro Road South in Whiteville.  

• Engage Life Church will host ‘What a Mess VBS’ from June 23-27. A meal will be served each evening at 5:30 p.m. with the program beginning at 6 p.m. Children ages 4-11 years old can be registered at www.vbspro.events/p/whatamess-elc. The church can be found at 386 Thompson Town Road in Whiteville.  

• Antioch Baptist Church will host their ‘Magnified’ summer program from June 23-27. It will run 6:30-8:30 p.m. nightly and will include class, crafts, music, food, games, and lots of fun. ABC can be located at 1463 Antioch Church Road in Whiteville.  

• St. James Missionary Baptist Church will be having their ‘Magnified’ Vacation Bible School on June 23-27 beginning at 5:15 p.m. each evening. The church is located at 3245 Old Northeast Road in Lake Waccamaw.

• Honey Hill Missionary Baptist Church will open their second night of their ‘Magnified’ VBS to the public on Tuesday, June 24, from 6-9 p.m. There will be food, games, crafts, and teaching of the gospel. For more information, call Brianna Simmons at 910.448.1125. The church’s address is 6140 Honey Hill Road in Hallsboro.  

• Forest Lawn Missionary Baptist Church will have their ‘Magnified’ themed VBS from July 6-10, with commencement on July 11. The church’s address is 16025 James B. White Highway South in Tabor City. 

• Wesley-Weyman Methodist Church and Safe Harbor Baptist Church will be joining together to have their joint two-day VBS on July 11-12. On July 11, the program will begin at 5:30 p.m. and will include registration, a meal, Bible fun, and waterslides. Pick up will be at 8:30 p.m. The second day of the program will begin at 9 a.m. and will include more Bible fun, crafts, music, waterslides and more. Pick up will be at 2 p.m. that day and lunch is provided. Children who plan on participating in water activities will need to bring a towel. This VBS will be held at Wesley- Weyman located at 104 NC Highway 87 in Riegelwood.  

• Livingston Baptist Church has announced that its VBS, ‘Rocket Racers-On Track with Our Powerful God,’ will be on July 14-17 at 6-9 p.m. nightly. LBC’s address is 4629 Livingston Chapel Road in Delco.  

• Porter Swamp Baptist Church will host their ‘Magnified’ summer program at the church located at 8925 Andrew Jackson Highway in Cerro Gordo. The VBS will have the kick-off on July 13 from 5-6:30 p.m., and on July 14-18, service for all ages will begin at 6:30 p.m. Supper will be served nightly.  

• Trinity Baptist Church will be having their ‘Magnified’ vacation Bible school from July 20-23. Kick off will be that Sunday at 5:30 p.m. There will be bouncy houses for everyone to enjoy. The rest of the program will run 5:20-8:30 p.m. each evening, and this year, the VBS is for children and adults of all ages. The church is located at 201 South Thompson Street in Whiteville.  

• Cypress Creek Church has announced their dates and times for their VBS. Kick off will be July 27 from 5-7 p.m. and will continue from July 28-31 from 5:45-8 p.m. nightly. Commencement will be Aug. 1 at 6 p.m. CCC’s address is 1440 Wardtown Road South in Whiteville.
