Pinkney Devon Duncan

August 22, 1941 ~ June 10, 2025 (age 83)

Pinkney Devon Duncan, 83, of the Beaverdam Community of Chadbourn, passed away suddenly on Monday, June 10, 2025, at his home.

Devon was born on August 22, 1941, son of the late Leo Duncan and  Eunice Sellers Duncan. He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Duncan.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Worthington Funeral Home with Pastor Buddy Seay officiating. Burial will follow in the McPherson Cemetery.

Family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 – 1:45 p.m.

Devon attended Williams Township School. He had a 43 year career working at National Spinning Company. Upon his retirement, Devon dedicated his time to lovingly caring for his son with special needs. Together, they shared a deep bond and spent many joyful hours boating and fishing. He was a member of the Beaverdam Original Free Will Baptist Church since 1960.

The surviving family includes his loving and devoted wife, Carolyn Elaine Cartrette Duncan; son, Gregory Devon Duncan of the home; daughter, Pamela Duncan Cartrette and husband, Matthew, of Wilmington; grandchildren, Victoria Caroline Cartrette of Raleigh and Elizabeth Cartrette Brogden and husband, Luke, of Charlotte; siblings, Danny Duncan, Richard Duncan, Kenneth Duncan, Bobby Duncan, Larry Duncan, and Dorothy Duncan Casselman.
