June 10, 1944 ~ April 2, 2024 (age 79)
Thomas “Tommy” Jackson Chandler, Jr., age 79, passed away on April 2, 2024 due to an automobile accident. Tommy was born on June 10, 1944, to the late Thomas Jackson “Jack” Chandler, Sr and Clara Worrell Chandler. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister; Sue Ellen Chandler. He was followed in death by a sister; Karen Terry and special friend; Marilyn Thomas.
He graduated from Hallsboro High School and then received a Bachelor Degree from UNC-Pembroke. Tommy was a school teacher for a short period. He worked in auto sales growing up and was the co-owner of Tommy Chandler Toyota, Chrysler, Plymouth, Dodge and Bogue Motor Sales until he retired. He was a member of White Marsh Baptist Church. He loved NASCAR, fishing, hunting, dogs and cats.
Left to cherish his memory have been his son; Terry Alfred Chandler (Melissa) of Whiteville, brother; James Michael Chandler (Wanda) of Lake Waccamaw, brother in law; Wylie Terry of Leland, and grandson; Weston Thomas Chandler (Brooke) of Clarendon and several nieces.
A memorial graveside service will be held on Friday, July 11, 2025, at 10:00 am in Whiteville Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Hester officiating. The family will receive friends at McKenzie Mortuary at 9:00 am prior to the service.
