December 2, 1939 ~ July 16, 2025 (age 85)
Doris Cartrette Proctor 85, passed into the arms of Jesus on July 16, 2025 at the Angel House Hospice Care Center in Whiteville, NC, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on December 2, 1939, Doris was the daughter of the late Jesse and Hettie Cartrette. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bobby Proctor, Sr., and siblings Paul Cartrette, Charles Cartrette, David Cartrette, Judy Griffin, Agnes Cribb, and Brenda Edwards.
She leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory: her son, Bobby Proctor, Jr. (Tricia) of Lake Waccamaw; daughters Terry Skiles of Indiana; Toni (Virgil) Osborne and Vicki Ribal of Oregon; and Charmin Strickland (Berry) of Tabor City, North Carolina; brothers, Horace Cartrette of Winston Salem, NC and Ralph Cartrette (Elsie) of Chadbourn, NC.
Doris was the proud granny of 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She also shared her home and heart with many special children over the years, whom she loved as her own.
She was a beloved wife, mother, granny, sister, aunt and friend. She will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her generous spirit, witty personality and her warm, welcoming presence. Her legacy of kindness and compassion will continue to live on in all who knew and loved her.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Sunday July 27, 2025 at Cherry Grove Baptist Church 9833 Swamp Fox Hwy W, Cerro Gordo, NC 28430.
