Jimmy Moody

September 6, 1945 ~ July 5, 2025 (age 79)

Jimmy Lyn Moody, 79, of Hallsboro, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at home on the afternoon of July 5th, 2025, surrounded by those who loved him.

Jimmy was born in Marion, South Carolina, and spent his life as a devoted family man, hard worker, and faithful servant to his community. He was a longtime equipment specialist with the Department of Agriculture, where his dedication and work ethic left a lasting impact.

Beyond his career, Jimmy found joy in helping others. He was a member of Hallsboro Baptist Church and was always willing to lend a hand—volunteering his time to build wheelchair ramps and assist those in need throughout his community. Whether it was family, friends, or strangers, he lived his life with kindness and compassion, always ready to help however he could.

Jimmy is survived by his loving wife, Carla Moody; his children, Amanda Stephens (Emory), Mary Jo Craven, and Chad Moody (Tonya); his brothers, Joe Moody and Randy Moody; his father-in-law, Eugene Sasser; and many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren who carry on his legacy.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Copeland and Irene Moody; his brother, Wayne Moody; his mother-in-law, Iris Sasser; and his son, Clay Hagood.

Jimmy will be remembered for his caring heart, his tireless work ethic, and his passion for serving others. His life was a blessing to all who knew him, and his memory will be held close in the hearts of his family and friends.
