
Bernice Cliff McPherson, 85, of the Beaverdam community in Chadbourn, NC, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family on August 4, 2025.
Born on August 2, 1940, Bernice dedicated her life to caring for her family. She was retired from childcare- Her love, strength, and resilience shaped generations, and her legacy lives on in the hearts of those she held close.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sadie and Yancey Cliff; a brother Melton, her sister, Peggy; and her beloved son, Teddy. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Teresa Lengner (Rolf) of Chadbourn; Frank Ricketts (Anke) of Texas; Denise Ricketts of Chadbourn; and Rodney Ricketts of Georgia. She also leaves behind her granddaughter whom she lovingly raised as her own, Michelle Jamison (Mike) of Chadbourn, along with six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
A small, intimate service to celebrate Bernice’s life will be held at her home at 921 JD Cartrette Road on Sunday August 10th, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. The family welcomes friends and loved ones to join them in remembrance.
