Columbus County Commissioners will hold a public hearing Sept. 15 on proposed changes to the county subdivision ordinance. The changes were requested by the county at the Aug. 25 meeting due to concerns about lot sizes, density and other issues with residential developments.
Marcus Faulk is recovering after he was shot on Burkhead Street in Whiteville Sunday, WPD has identified a suspect.
Whiteville Police have charged James Edward Williams of Chadbourn with felony breaking and entering and three counts of forcible sex offense. The alleged assault occurred Aug. 15. Williams was held under no bond pending a first appearance. He was also charged with stealing 22 cases of beer from the Murphy USA gas station in July.
