Sports betting dropped again in North Carolina during July, according to figures released this week by the N.C. State Lottery Commission.
During the period July 1-31, Tar Heel gamblers spent $370,385,588 in online sports wagers. They took home $344,636,964. Gross revenue for the state’s eight licensed gaming operators was $22,679,993, of which $4.08 million is paid to the state in taxes.
In June, Between June 1 and June 30, account holders in North Carolina wagered $433,184,675 on sporting events, including paid and promotional wagers. From those wagers, account holders won $372,183,030. That produced $58 million in revenue for the gambling concerns, and $10.4 million in taxes for the state.
