Here’s today’s Bottom Line
A very quiet overall weather pattern to dominate well into next week.
High pressure will be in control today through much of Saturday. Some foggy areas this morning will give way to sunshine today, and it’ll be a warm one with highs reaching the upper 80s… but humidity levels will stay in the manageable level.
Another warm one on Saturday, a touch more humid as well, ahead of a cold front that will cross the area late in the afternoon. The front should pass dry, perhaps some intervals of cloudiness with the actual front. Highs again in the upper 80s… some areas may touch 90 but that’ll be the exception rather than the rule.
The front gets hung up to our south and east, draped off the coast. An area of low pressure is still expected to spin up along the front but I believe this will be far enough south and east that there will be very little impact here… perhaps an isolated/spotty shower in here Sunday afternoon (but even that is a stretch).
I don’t think the low will close up and take on tropical characteristics. It will move north, east, and away on Labor Day.
High pressure builds back in with dry weather and below-normal temps Labor Day through at least Wednesday. Longer range modeling keeps things generally dry through the end of the week with a warming trend.
TROPICS: A weak tropical wave will move off the coast of Africa by Sunday. There could be some slow development of this system as it moves into the eastern tropical Atlantic ocean next week. The NHC gives this a 20% chance for development over the next 7 days.
There are no threats to the Carolinas through at least the next 2 weeks.
