Deputies arrested a man Saturday after he allegedly went the wrong way on a busy highway, then refused to cooperate with law enforcement.
Shannon Worrell, 52, of 719 Whitehall Rd., Whiteville, was released on $500 unsecured bond on a single charge of resisting an officer, according to Detention Center records.
The report said a deputy saw Worrell traveling north in the southbound lane of North Powell Boulevard Saturday. The vehicle then crossed the median into the northbound lane.
Deputies identified Worrell when they stopped the vehicle. He allegedly refused to provide his driver’s license although he was asked several times, the report said. Worrell was taken into custody without further incident.
