Pack falls to Knights 3-0
On Tuesday, the Eagles defeated Union in volleyball 3-1. East Bladen took down the Spartans by set scores of 25-18, 25-13, 16-25, and 25-22. The Eagles were led by Taylor Dowless, who had 15 kills. Aubrei Nixon added seven kills while Mileigh Martin had 11 aces.
East Bladen goes to 2-2 in the conference and 2-9 for the year. They will go to Lakewood (1-2, 1-6) on Thursday. Union will play at Hobbton (3-0, 5-2) on Sept. 16.
West Bladen took down Whiteville 3-0 in the Southeastern Conference opener for both squads. The scores were 25-18, 25-18, and 25-11. The Knights Emmy Bryant had six digs while Makenna Thurman provided six kills.
The Knights (1-0, 7-1) host Fairmont (0-1, 2-8) on Thursday, while Whiteville travels to Boiling Springs to face South Brunswick (1-0, 4-3).
East Columbus swept Lakewood on Tuesday 3-0. The Gators took the sets by scores of 25-14, 25-18, and 25-20. Milana Graham had eight kills and Skylah Collins provided six assists for the Gators, who are now 3-1 in the conference and 7-1 for the season. They will host Hobbton on Thursday.
South Columbus beat Fairmont 3-1. The set scores were 25-17, 16-25, 25-20, and 25-11. The Stallions go to 1-0 in the conference and 4-6 overall.
South Columbus goes to Red Springs (0-1, 1-7) on Thursday. The Tornadoes go to 0-1 in the conference and 2-8 overall, and travel to Dublin to face West Bladen.
