There was plenty of area high school soccer action Monday.

In Elizabethtown, Ishaq Algozy did the hat trick plus one as he scored four goals as the East Bladen Eagles defeated South Columbus 5-0. Debo Lewis and Jackson Moffet provided assists for the Eagles, who are now 3-3-2 on the year. They will open conference play on Thursday at home against Hobbton (2-5). South Columbus falls to 0-7 on the season. They host East Columbus (2-2) on Thursday.

Whiteville took a loss at home to Purnell Swett 1-0. Brayden Jacobs scored the only goal for the Rams. The Wolfpack fall to 2-5-1 on the year. The Pack goes to Lumberton to face the Pirates on Wednesday. Purnell Swett is now 6-2 for the season.

In Rose Hill, Union beat West Columbus 9-0. It was the first soccer match of the season for the Vikings. The Vikings host Lakewood (0-7) on Thursday in conference play. The Spartans are now 4-3 on the season.
