The suspect in Saturday’s arson case in Hallsboro was taken to Columbus Regional after a scan at the sheriff’s office showed a “concealed object” in her body.
Amber Muse, 49, of 122 and 144 Bussy Road, was charged with felony arson and held under $100,000 secured bond, according to detention center reports. She is alleged to have intentionally set fire to 122 Bussy Road, where she had previously lived. (See related story on this page)
The sheriff’s office was called to a report of a fight at the burning home by firefighters on the scene, according to the report. Muse fled when deputies arrived, and was found in a nearby yard, according to the report. She tried to run from deputies again, but was captured.
While she was being processed at the Detention Center, Muse was scanned with the full body scanner used on all detainees. The report said the scanner detected a “possible concealed foreign object”. She was transported to Columbus Regional, where additional examinations confirmed the presence of the object.
Muse refused several treatments, the report said, but medical staff confirmed that the object was finally removed from her system. She was returned to the detention center after treatment.
