Here’s today’s Bottom Line

Unusually quiet weather will continue into next week. A frontal boundary lingering offshore will combine with high pressure “wedging” southward from the northeast. This brings a “cool” northeast wind flow across the area today. Plenty of moisture in place trapped beneath warmer air aloft means lots of clouds across the area with perhaps a few sprinkles here or there and highs in the upper 70s today.

That gets scoured out tonight and high pressure takes over for real beginning Thursday and lasting well into next week. A few ripples of low-pressure zip along the old frontal boundary offshore but ultimately, they should be of little consequence.

We’ll have building temperatures as we go into next week, pushing closer to the 90-degree mark once again.

Otherwise, no major weather systems about which to worry.

TROPICS:   There continue to be no tropical threats identified by the National Hurricane Center, and there are no tropical threats to the Carolinas through at least the next 10 days to 2 weeks.
