ELIZABETHTOWN — East Bladen got off to a great start in the Carolina Conference Volleyball tournament with a sweep of the West Columbus Vikings 3-0.
Taylor Dowless had nine kills for the Eagles while Cabria Baldwin knocked down eight kills and had three blocks in the victory. The Eagles took all three sets by scores of 25-16, 25-16, and 26-24.
East Bladen (7-14) will travel to Lakewood on Tuesday to face top seed East Columbus (17-1), who is led by senior Malia Graham, who has 198 kills on the season .
The winner will face the winner of the North Duplin (15-5) and Hobbton (14-5) on Wednesday at Lakewood for the championship. The Vikings go to 3-14 on the season and await the playoff bracket announcement to see if they garnered a playoff spot.
