Animal Shelter Hits Capacity

Intakes have been paused at Columbus Animal Protective Services, but the shelter is still open for adoptions.

APS announced today (Tuesday) that they have reached full capacity. Dogs, cats, kittens and puppies are available for adoption. The shelter is urgent need of adopters or verified rescues for animals.

The shelter will not accept strays, owner surrenders, or drop-offs until further notice.

To adopt an animal, go to the shelter’s Facebook page, log on to the sheriff’s office app and click on Animal Protective Services, or go by the shelter on Legion Drive in Whiteville between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
