Betty Stanley has been found safe in Sampson County after running out of fuel. Lake Waccamaw Police Chief Corey Finch said Mrs. Stanley, 85, was found at the intersection N.C 24 and N.C. 242. She was taken to a hospital for evaluation, Finch said, and reunited with her family en route.
The Leesville Christmas Light Show is now up and shinning. Corey Lee and his family decorate their yard on N.C. 130 with thousands of lights and ornaments every year.
Columbus County Commissioners on Monday will consider a fee schedule for cell phone towers. Commissioner Giles Buddy Byrd initiated the request after the board approved a new stricter ordinance at the last meeting. He noted that after building permit is issued, towers generate no additional revenue.
