Doris Elaine Jacobs, 83, of Bolton, N.C., passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on November 25, 2025, surrounded by the love and presence of her family. Born on May 23, 1942, in Clinton, N.C., she was the cherished daughter of the late Jessie Maryland Jacobs and Ida Remell Epps Jacobs.

Elaine lived a life defined by kindness, generosity, and a deep commitment to her community. She faithfully served for many years as the nutritionist at the Waccamaw Siouan Daycare, where she nourished not only the children’s bodies but also their confidence and joy. She took immense pride in watching them grow, succeed, and find their own paths in life. Her dedication left a lasting impact on countless families.

A devoted member of the Mt. Sinai Holiness Church Ladies Auxiliary, Elaine treasured the bonds she formed through fellowship and service. Her church family held a special place in her heart, and she was always eager to lend a hand, share a smile, or offer a prayer.

Elaine’s creativity shone through her beautiful quilting—an art she practiced with love and skill. Many in her family and community will forever cherish the quilts she gifted, each one stitched with care, warmth, and a bit of her vibrant spirit.

Above all, Elaine will be remembered for her infectious sense of humor and the joy she brought to every gathering. She had a remarkable gift for lifting others up, spreading laughter, and stepping in to help anyone in need. Her presence brightened every room, and her compassion touched every life she encountered.

She is survived by her sons, Travis Jacobs (Tonya) and Ertle Ray Freeman; daughters, Doraine Lopex (Rudy), Lisa Ammons (Joe), Melissa Singler (Michael), and Sandra Settle; grandchildren Emily Lopex, Gabe Lopex, Mariah Moe, Cheyenne Lopex, Aarron Lopex, Amanda Ammons, Taylor Ammons, Amber Page, Michael Singler Jr., Jordan Durant, Brooke Jacobs, Madeline Nance, Garrison Jacobs, Eli Jacobs, Joseph Bonner, Jaimie Bonner, Erika Walter, Jedidiah Bonner, Jonah Bonner, Gabriella Bonner, Chevayo Settle, and Kay’lyn Freeman; and great-grandchildren Hadley Page, Avery Page, McKenzie Futrell, Ayden Singler, Levi Singler, Giavonna Durant, Jaleigh Cox, Jalynn Cox, Warren Bowen, Elizabeth Karter Nance, Shailyn Tatum, Cameron Kalis, Skylar Jacobs, Anora Walter, and Emma Walter. She is lovingly survived by a wide circle of nieces, nephews, family members and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ida Remell Jacobs and Jessie Maryland Jacobs; her stepfather, Vernell Jacobs; her husband, Harold Jacobs; and her brothers, Norman Bailey Jacobs, Delford Ray Jacobs, and Jessie Leon Jacobs.

A celebration of Elaine’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Mt. Sinai Holiness Church, with visitation beginning one hour prior. Burial will follow at Red Hill Cemetery.

Following the service, the family will receive friends at Mt. Sinai Holiness Church. They invite all who loved Elaine to join them in remembering her remarkable life, her unwavering faith, and the love she shared so freely.
