North Carolina is Growing

North Carolina is growing.  In September, NC state officials announced that with a 24% population increase from 2020 to 2024, Brunswick County was the fastest-growing county in North Carolina.  According to the N.C. Office of State Budget and Management, nearly 33,000 new residents have moved to Brunswick County, which increased it’s population from just over 136,000 people to almost 170,000.  In comparison, in 2004, Brunswick’s residents numbered less than half of that at just 84,000 people.  Currently local governments and developers are working on plans to try to accommodate current and future growth within the county.  In the same time frame, Columbus County has lost almost 800 people.
