Rehabilitated Coastal Pelican Release
Exciting news from Sunset Beach Police Department. Join us this Friday, November 21 at 1:00 p.m., on the beach at the Sunset Beach Fishing Pier, as our very own Animal Control Officer Arp (pictured) releases three rehabilitated pelicans back into their beautiful coastal home.
These birds have been at Sea Biscuit Wildlife Shelter, a non-profit wild bird rehabilitation organization located in Brunswick County, North Carolina founded in 2007 to provide medical treatment for wild birds that are injured, sick, or orphaned.
All three pelicans have now made a full recovery, thanks to Sea Biscuit, and it’s time to send them soaring again. Bring your family, friends and be a part of this special moment. We hope to see you there.
