Happy Thanksgiving friends and followers. I hope you have a wonderful and safe holiday.
Dry and cold… that’s the story today through Saturday thanks to strong Arctic high pressure over the area. A very dry air mass is in place, so that will mean a nearly cloudless sky right through Saturday.
Highs today will be in the mid 50s, but as the high crests overhead our highs on Friday and Saturday likely won’t get out of the 40s.
DEEP HARD FREEZE
Lows tonight / early Friday will dip into the upper 20s to around 30. Some of the coldest spots possibly drop to the mid 20s.
Lows Friday night / early Saturday will fall deep into the 20s… possibly as low as 20 degrees in the typically colder spots.
Remember… people, pets, pipes, and plants during the cold snap.
The high pushes quickly offshore on Sunday allowing a southwesterly flow of much warmer air. Temps jump to the lower and middle 60s with partly sunny skies.
A coastal frontal boundary will come together Sunday night and combine with high pressure “wedging” down from the northeast on Monday. Lots of clouds with a chance for showers can be expected with temps around 60. A couple areas of low pressure are expected to come together on the southern stream by Tuesday… more substantial rainfall is possible Monday night through Tuesday into Tuesday night. It should all be gone by Wednesday. I’ll focus more on this event later this weekend. We do need the rain… and the model blends show upwards of an inch of rainfall from the system.
