Here’s today’s Bottom Line
Well our little taste of winter will peak today with blustery and cold conditions, but full sunshine. There’s an elevated fire danger today due to a very dry ground, dry leaves, dry “fuels,” along with the gusty winds and low humidity values this afternoon.
Widespread frost will occur tonight as high pressure drops south. Our temps will fall to between 30 and 34… possibly upper 20s in some of the typically colder spots.
As the high drops south toward the Gulf coast, a southwesterly flow becomes established and temperatures rebound back up toward… and then above… seasonal normal values by the weekend. A weak frontal boundary passes through the area on Thursday but we’re really not going to notice much from it other than possibly some breezy conditions and a wind shift to the west/northwest.
High pressure builds overhead Friday and Saturday with a continuation of dry weather. The next weather system, a complex area of low pressure extending from northern Michigan southward into Texas, will start to push east by the end of the weekend and we could see some (rain) showers in here early NEXT week. That’ll depend on how quickly the high pressure ridge breaks down … we have plenty of time to monitor this.
TROPICS: There are no areas of interest worth watching.
