South Columbus 41, West Columbus 33

TABOR CITY—South Columbus held West Columbus to 12 points in the first half on their way to a 41-33 victory over the Vikings Friday night in boys basketball.

The Stallions possessed an eight-point lead at the half and maintained that lead each quarter, leading 32-24 at the end of the third and 41-33 at the end of the contest.

Khalil Morgan led the Stallions (1-2) with 21 points in the victory. The Stallions will travel to county rival East Columbus (0-4) on Tuesday. West Columbus (1-2) hosts Whiteville (1-2) on Dec. 9.

West Brunswick 37, Whiteville 19

WHITEVILLE – The Wolfpack had a night on offense that everyone in Whiteville would soon forget as the Pack scored zero points in the first quarter and only mustered six in the second as West Brunswick pounded Whiteville, 37-19.

Whiteville trailed 18-0 after the first was down 27-6 at the break. The Wolfpack came out in the second half with tight defense to hold the Trojans to only a point in the third quarter, but the Wolfpack could only muster nine points in the third to still trail 28-15 going into the final quarter. West Brunswick ran a stall offense in the fourth quarter to hold off the Pack to a 37-19 victory.

Jerrisen Dixon led the Trojans with 12 points in the victory. Isaac Clarida had 14 rebounds and Kveon Griffen also contributed 10 boards for West Brunswick. The Trojans (5-1) will travel to North Myrtle Beach (3-3) today (Dec. 8) The Wolfpack (1-2) will try to rebound against county rival West Columbus (1-2) in Cerro Gordo on Tuesday.

Heide Trask 67, East Bladen 47

ROCKY POINT – Trask kept East Bladen out of the win column with a 67-47 victory in boys basketball Friday night.

Trask led by 11 points 32-21 at the half and expanded the Titans lead to 50-30 at the end of the third quarter. The Eagles tied the Titans with 17 points each in the fourth quarter for the 67-47 final score.

Matthias Sonne had 20 points for Trask (4-1) in the victory. Demond Moore contributed 16 points for the Titans. Tevin McLean had 14 points for the Eagles. Heide Trask will face Richlands (0-3) on Tuesday. East Bladen, now 0-4 on the season, will host county rival West Bladen (4-2) Tuesday.

Landstown High (Va.) 87, West Bladen 54

KILL DEVIL HILLS – Damien Robinson had 4 3-pointers and a game high 24 points in Landstown, Virginia’s 87-54 blistering victory over West Bladen Saturday.

Robinson was one of four players in double figures for the Eagles, now 3-0 on the season. West Bladen kept the game close in the first half, only trailing by four after the first period and 44-35 at the half. Landstown’s defense put a clamp on the Knights’ offense, outscoring them 43-24 in the second half for the 87-54 final score.

Landstown will host Salem, Va. (1-1) on Tuesday. Jackson Pait had 17 points and Tylik McCall had 16 points in the West Bladen loss. West Bladen (4-2) will travel to county rival East Bladen (0-4).
