The suspect in a Saturday night break-in was carrying a handgun and dressed in black, according to the sheriff’s office.
Jesus Rojas, 23, was held under $2,500 secured bond, charged with second degree trespassing, resisting an officer, carrying a concealed weapon, and marijuana paraphernalia. Court record show his address as 52 Caswell Sellers Dr., Whiteville.
The sheriff’s office reported that deputies were called to a break-in at 331 Chadbourn Highway just after 10 p.m. The caller said the break-in was in progress.
Deputies found Rojas in front of the business, holding an object. Rojas refused verbal commands to surrender, and appeared to reach toward his waistband, the report said.
Deputes finally detained him without injury, and recovered a Glock handgun with a spare magazine and marijuana paraphernalia.
