Here’s today’s Bottom Line
An almost springlike day on tap ahead of a modestly strong cold front that will sweep across the area early Friday. We’ll see thickening clouds with rain developing later this afternoon. Rain… and possible thunder… is likely through the night until the front passes through early Friday. Rain may actually be rather heavy at times this evening, as indicated by some of the high-res modeling.
Warm highs today ahead of the front on a southerly wind flow. We’ll have temperatures cresting around the 70-degree mark this afternoon. With the clouds and rain tonight, lows only drop to the upper 50s to around 60.
The rain comes to an end Friday morning with gradually clearing skies through the day. It’s going to be rather breezy in the wake of the front but our highs will still be well above normal, reaching the mid 60s.
Rainfall amounts should average out between half and two-thirds of an inch, with some locally higher amounts possible.
High pressure then settles in this weekend. Saturday will be seasonable with highs in the upper 50s… rising back to the mid and upper 60s on Sunday. Colder air then moves across the area late Sunday evening, returning temps back to the upper 50s on Monday. Another warm-up begins on Tuesday and lasts through Christmas, with highs in the 60s once again. Rain chances near zero through Christmas. White Christmas chances are also zero.
