WHITEVILLE 9, EAST COLUMBUS 5

WHITEVILLE—Whiteville defeated East Columbus in baseball 9-5 on Monday at Legion Field. The win moves the Wolfpack to 5-1 on the year. Whiteville will host Wilmington Christian Academy (2-3) on Friday.

Eli Walker went three for four with two runs batted in for the Gators. Brooks Mclean had two hits and two RBIs in the loss.

East Columbus is now 4-2 on the year. On Tuesday, the Gators rallied from two runs down in the seventh to beat North Duplin 14-13 for their first Carolina Conference win of the year. East Columbus will travel to West Columbus (3-1) on March 17.

WEST COLUMBUS 30, UNION 0

CERRO GORDO—West Columbus only allowed one hit as the Vikings crushed Union 30-0 in baseball on Tuesday night. West Columbus in now 1-0 in the Carolina Conference and 3-1 on the season. They will host Lakewood (1-4) March 11. Union is now 0-1 in the conference and 0-6 on the year. The Spartans will host North Duplin (1-2) on Thursday.

CLINTON 4, EAST BLADEN 3

ELIZABETHTOWN—Clinton scored three runs in the top of the sixth inning to rally past East Bladen 4-3 in baseball on Tuesday night.

Francel Lezcano-Mena led the Dark Horses with the pinch-hit single to knock in two RBIs to put Clinton up 4-3 in the sixth. Tyler Eason and Davion Lewis combined for a three-hitter in the loss for the Eagles. East Bladen (1-3) will open Carolina Conference play hosting Hobbton (1-0, 3-1) on Thursday. Clinton (4-1) will host Lakewood (1-4) on Friday.
