Deborah “Debby” Edwards

Deborah “Debby” Edwards, 76, of Lake Waccamaw, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, March 30, 2026.  Debby was born on May 19, 1949 in Lumberton, to the late R.J. Edwards and Margaret Lois Cain Edwards.

Debby was a nurse anesthetist and served her country honorably in the U.S. Army Nurses Corps during Desert Storm and as a reservist after Desert Storm.  During her service of 8 ½ years she reached the rank of major.  She received a BS Degree from Landers University.  She also did volunteer work with the local food bank as well as Living Hope Pregnancy Center.  She was retired from Guardian Ad Litem.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter; Eren Edwards of Lumberton, sister Rosemary Button (John) of Winston Salem, and one granddaughter; Xylia Edwards.

No service will be held at this time.
McKenzie Mortuary, 112 Jefferson Street, Whiteville, is serving the Edwards’ family.
